Cloud environments bring complexity to the discovery of attack surfaces since most of the registered instances and blobs aren’t using a specific convention. In addition, most of the cloud resources are being directed to constantly modifying IP addresses.

Cynergy addressed the problem with a dual tactic, Cynergy is doing the old and prone to false positive enumeration (Without any integration), to provide the organization a view of how an attacker would conduct the reconnaissance. The reason is that there are several use cases from Cynergy’s past in which Cynergy’s clients have identified S3 buckets and Azure Blobs containing the organization name with exposed sensitive information.

In addition, Cynergy has integrations to cloud DNS providers such as AWS route 53, from which it extracts the most recent data.
